Searching

You can search for information in your e-unit by either using the e-unit index (to your left) or by clicking on the search button at the top of this window.

Using the e-unit index button is covered in the unit index help page.

When you click on the search button the following menu appears:

By typing the word or phrase you are looking for in the blank search box (the first box with a white background) and pressing the enter key, your e-unit will rapidly search through the text of the unit and locate any page where your word or phrase appears. You can search for “Titles only”, for “Keywords only” or “All text”. Generally speaking, opt for “Titles only” to find only main page headings and “All text” to find the text in any part of the e-unit.

The results of your search appear as a list of pages which you click on to move to that page. As you can see from the illustration, you can carry out as many searches as you want: each time you carry out a search a new “tab” is shown. In this case searches for “business” and “Cost” have been carried out.

The program does not automatically remember your searches - if you shut your e-unit down, the next time you load it up you will not see your old searches. However, you can save searches: if you click on the picture that looks like a floppy disc, you can save your search. You can then load your favourite search by clicking on the folder button next to the floppy disc button.

To remove a search from your list of searches, right click on its tab and choose “Remove This Page”:
