This builds on criteria E4 in an obvious way: in E4 you identified why a business might alter market conditions, here you are simply being asked to explain this.
Assistance
The focus is on why rather than how: you must be able to give a reason as to why a business would want to alter market conditions e.g. become more competitive or gain a larger market share. In other words you are being asked to explain the purpose of business strategies - why do they try to add value or carry out advertising campaigns. Usually it’s because they want to strengthen their position within the market - to gain greater market power.
Practice this criteria by looking at real world business strategies and explaining why the business is using those strategies.
